This is my final for DMA 218, a full quarter in the making, with 30 self made assets. This was exceptionally challenging, being my first use of Unreal Engine, but more than worth it. As probably seen in the title, this piece was intended to portray a haunted home office, many of the rooms smaller objects are strewn or knocked to strange angles, the owners trying to piece together something about the house, I hope it at least comes across as unsettling.
While the majority of this project was a welcome challenge, there were certainly moments where the challenge seemed to outstay its welcome, namely the glass of the windows. While working on the material for the glass in blueprints it for the longest time kept breaking and refracting in extremely strange ways, I made probably 5+ versions of glass before it came out right. On the opposite side, some things were tediously fun, I spent probably 4 hours on the corkboard 'investigation' piece by itself, getting to flesh out its texture was easily my favorite part of the project.
